Sacrifice is apart of life!

In pursuit of following my dreams and making them a reality, there are sacrifices that must be made along the way.  I don't see my recent decision as a sacrifice by any means, but I do know some might.  I recently accepted a position as a communications intern with Old Town Commercial Association in Lansing.  It is a great opportunity for growth and experience in my professional career.  When I mentioned earlier that I will be making sacrifices, I meant that I may have to drop one of my jobs.  I currently work for Radio Disney, The Wharton Center for the Performing Arts, and the East Neighborhood Service Centers.   I'm a very busy woman and I ("Poor Unfortunate Souls" beginning) continue to push myself as far as I possibly can! Working hard and managing my time are two essential skills that I have learned and exercised a lot in my college career.  You can do anything you want in life if you work hard.  My advice to those reading is, work hard for what you want and it can be yours.  Manage your time so that you still have time for friends, family, and fun!

Dream. True. Courage. Pursue.

Ask yourself, what do I want?

I’m not sure if it was in me all along and it just took a hard, learning, new experience to force it out of me or I just needed to go to college and really see what life could be like for me to realize my dreams and aspirations. Either way, I’m glad I had a tough freshman year at Michigan State University and a summer that changed my life for the better to open my eyes to dreams I didn’t know I had.
As a young adult, we are often told to follow our heart, dreams, goals, etc.  I think that is easier said than done.  As a 22 year old, senior at MSU this year, I have found myself reflecting on the life I have lived and what has shaped me into the person I am today.
It was the summer after my freshman year of college.  I decided to go live up north in Charlevoix with my Grandfather to try and repair a relationship that hadn’t really started in the beginning.  I took time to focus on myself and what I really wanted to do in life.  With the help of my Step Grandma Bonnie, she made me tell her what my dream job would be.  The first thing that popped into my mind was Disney, anything with Disney.  It was from that point on, that I began to research.
I took the time (though prompted) to ask myself, what do I want? from there, I began living my dream. So now I ask you, what do you want?
